Need-Based Merit Scholarships
may be awarded on the basis of financial need and the
likelihood of success in the applicant’s chosen
career, based on the applicant’s academic record
and personal accomplishments.
What is the award amount of the Need-Based Merit Scholarship?
Two scholarships, (1) $5,000 tuition scholarship and (1) $2,500 scholarship, may be awarded.
Are there any requirements in addition to completing the Need-Based Merit Scholarship Application?
Yes. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal must accompany the application. You may mail this letter to us at:

How will the winners of the Need-Based Merit Scholarship be determined?
A scholarship recommendation committee made up of the WVJC Executive Director, senior administrator, and other individuals recognized for their contribution to education will make the recommendations.
